| Several quick points:
-My efforts to blog were short-lived, but noble (actually, not really. they were kinda lame, in fact.). Thus, at this point my updates will be occurring approximately once every two years, or possibly never. But feel free to leave comments anyhow. :) -if you want to communicate with me, which would be great, message me and I will (in all likelihood) give you my email address. -I am currently in South Sudan, where I am working on a post-war church reconstruction project for Samaritan's Purse, an NGO based in Boone, NC. I will be here till at least July 2008, if things go as planned. If you should ever find yourself hitch-hiking through this part of the world, give me a holler and we'll gladly host you in our five-star hotel/guesthouse. You even get a warm shower if the fire underneath the water tank has been stoked properly. -Peace out.

| Aleksey Vayner really makes me proud to be a Yalie. Read about him and the stir he has recently caused here: http://www.ivygateblog.com/blog/tags/aleksey_vayner/ Be sure to scroll down and watch his video, which is what initially got him so much attention..
And please try not to feel bad for him--he apparently has a long and distinguished history of making things up.

| Time to stop being bitter about the World Cup, and move on to other
things. Hmm, let's see, what else can I complain about?
Actually, right now I'd be hard-pressed to whine about anything...I'm
back at school after an extremely eventful summer which included lots
of travel and singing...I'm reconnecting with old school
friends...ready to dive in to my senior year at Yale. No, I'm
afraid I have nothing to be bitter about. Life is good, and God
is faithful.
Classes start day-after-tomorrow, and I'm still trying to figure out
what I want to take. The class "shopping period" that we're
allowed here is mostly a luxury, but it does always create chaos during
the first week of school. Usually it means picking out 5 or 10
courses that you want to take (20 if you're extremely ambitious or
indecisive, like some of my friends here), and then going to the first
lecture to listen to the prof describe what you could read on your own
in the syllabus. Not all that illuminating, but it's the system
here and it's nice to be able to sample lots of options. I'm
thinking that apart from my 2 history credits (senior essay and a
seminar on revolutions in Latin America), I might take a philosophy
class, a spanish course, and either a course on health care policy or a
class at the School of Management.
I took a very important step a few days ago. After years of
holding out against the insidious and subversive influence of cell
phones on our culture, I finally caved and got one for myself.
I'm sort of embarrassed to admit this major failure to the xanga world,
but I'm told that confession is good for the soul, so there you have
it. If you would like the number, send me an email and I might
give it to you.
Laterz.

| A little wisdom from Michael Lewis: "If there is one thing I learned on Wall Street it's that when an investment banker starts talking about principles, he is usually also defending his interests, and that he rarely stakes out the moral high ground unless he believes there is gold under his campsite." Hmmm.
